Coming Back To Sagetv

Hey guys it has been about 4 months since I was using Sagetv. At the time I was debating whether to get the R5000 mod for starchoice or go with the hauppauge hd pvr with firewire channel changing on my DCT6200 boxes. Unfortunately I never got around to either. So basically just wondering what your guys and gals opinions or preferred method of capturing premium HD content is now days? Is the Hauppauge HD pvr stable now with new drivers? Dolby 5.1 fully working? I know the R5000 mod is a bit more, but prices have come down quite a bit. Maybee about 60 dollars (cdn) more each box vs the hd pvr option. Thanks to all who respond.

The hd pvrs are stable until you get into 5.1 then it seems to be a crabshoot.
But you get more flexibilty with it meaning can change boxes or providers at anytime

I went the r5000 route myself and can't say enough good things about those guys and their support

Thanks for the reply PLUCKHD. How are channel changes with the r5000? speed wise and reliability? The r5000 captures dd5.1 as well dont they?

I have two HD-PVRs and really wish I'd never heard of them. When they work it's a beautiful thing, but 95% headaches.

Chriscic what kind of problems are you having with the hd pvr?
