Windows 7 'God Mode'

If anyone is interested, there is a feature in Windows 7 called "God Mode" which is an enhanced control panel so to speak.

Create a new folder on your desktop and rename it to: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

The icon will change and the name should say "GodMode"

It has a lot of useful stuff in it.

there's no features/capabilities in there that aren't in the normal control panel places. That is just a special folder 'All Tasks' that is virtualized to allow quick access to settings via the start menu's search box.

And nothing about it is called 'god mode' other than that's what you named that folder. You could just as easily call it LameMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}, and it would do the same thing.

It works in XP as well, but the string is different. Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}.

You can use this, in combination with Alternate Data Streams to create locked, hidden folders.
