Browse By Category....God AWFUL SLOW

I would use "Browse By Category" much more if it was not so slow. I seen Five minutes wait times to download and display Categories. I have used "Browse By Categories" in both ReplayTV and Tivo in my past lives and it takes seconds not minutes.

And once I do get BBG to display my Categories, God Forbid if you want to make a found selection a favorite or look for future showings.....that's another 3-5 minutes of watching the sage icon spin. This makes this feature unusable for real day use.

This have been a pet peeve of mine for years, just never e-nuff to post about til today

Is these wait times normal is it just me? Can something be done to speed BBG up?

I knew the menu was a bit slow to load, but I never saw a 5 minute delay.

Anyway, there was a recent change regarding how the data for that menu is loaded, so it should load faster in the next beta. It still isn't instant because it has a lot of data to go through, but it is a lot faster on my system.

Well to be honest I never timed it was a stopwatch, but it feels like 5 minites when I'm watching the spining icon

Happy to hear that a speed-up fix is on the minds of sage's brass
