Convert SD to HD as new HD are available.
Hi All.
I recently got a HD PVR and am I now recording in HD instead of SD as with my old WinTV 150. What a difference HD makes! I have hundreds of recordings in SD. Is there a way or a plug-in available to have my SD recordings RE-RECORDED in HD automatically when the HD equivalent of the SD recording becomes available? Basically replacing SD recordings with HD recordings as the HD recordings become available. Replaing the bad with the good. Some shows do not repeat for several months, so I don't want to go and delete all of my SD shows. |

SJQ can do this - a task was specifically created within SJQ for this exact scenario.

Slugger,
Can you point to where in the SJQ thread shows an example code for converting SD recordings to HD as HD recordings become available? Also, can this be done only for selected Favorites? Like only convert all "Friends" recordings from SD to HD? |

That's in the old SJQv2 thread, I'll blindly convert the example ruleset to v3 format below, but you should read the warning I give in the post above. Use of the _RESCHED task in SJQ relies heavily on your EPG data. You almost have to have blind faith in your EPG data to use this task on a massive scale. Good luck. Conversion of above referenced ruleset to SJQv3 format. Code:
if [IsObjMediaFile == true && $.IsTVFile{} == true && $.IsAiringHDTV{} == false && $.GetShowExternalID{} !^ "SH"] { :RESCHEDOPTS "HDONLY" _RESCHED }

Thanks for putting this code together. I was in the middle of researching this for my own purposes and just about figured it out when you posted. I was actually pretty darn close with what I came up with. I impressed myself!
