Potential reasons for USBUIRT not tuning accurately?
I have a USBUIRT controlling a hidef DirecTV box (I believe it's the H21-100). It was working fine for months, then I pulled the USBUIRT to do something on another PC. I put it back on the Sage Server, but all of a sudden channel changes aren't being received properly by my DTV box.
More specifically, the channel #s aren't being received fully by the DTV box. If I tune channel 242, it'll see the first & last 2, but not the 4. If I tune 245, it'll see the 2 and 4, but not the 5. If I tune 300, it'll see the 3 and first 0, but not the second zero. It's not always that specific problem, but some form of not seeing the full channel transmitted. I tried changing the delay between codes in the Remote Control options, seems to have some benefit, but not working fully. Here's my current Remote Control Options: Code:
Digits per channel: 0 Channel Change Prefix Code: none Channel Change Confirm Code: None Delay Between Codes: 1100 msec Delay Between Channel Changes: 800 msec IR Blaster Repeat Factor: 3 Any thoughts? I happen to have a Paterson tech cable (two actually), but I can't get them to work. I'll start a different thread for that, though. |

Mine used to be rock solid but now it misses about 1 in 20 times with the same symptom of not seeing all the digits.
Here are my settings Digits per channel: 4 Channel Change Prefix Code: none Channel Change Confirm Code: None Delay Between Codes: 600 msec Delay Between Channel Changes: 800 msec IR Blaster Repeat Factor: 2 I am not sure what to tweak to improve performance. |

Mine is more like 18 of 20 being missed, so really quite strange, and quite upsetting. If I didn't have 3 HD-OTA tuners, I'd really be in trouble.

I also experienced this problem. At times, the channel would not change. I had recently rerouted some wires behind my computer desk near the SageTV server. Apparently, the USB UIRT emitter wires were too close to other wires and were picking up interference. I rerouted the USB UIRT emitter wires away from the mess of wires behind my desk and the channels are changing normally again.

Now that is interesting... I can all but guarantee that the wire path is different in the new run than the old. I'll have to play with that.

Is the aiming the same?
FWIW, here are my settings which are working perfect like always with a Dish VIP211 box: Code:
Digits per channel: 3 Channel Change Prefix Code: E Channel Change Confirm Code: E Delay Between Codes: 6 msec Delay Between Channel Changes: 100 msec IR Blaster Repeat Factor: 2 |

yep, aiming is identical. Man that Dish box is fast, if I put in a delay between codes of less than 800ish msec's, the box doesn't get them all. Not a new issue, this is what it was like when it was new.
