HDhomerun recording pixelizing
Any I record off of my hdhomerun dual tuner is pixelizing. I know it's nit the signal strength since my usb divco tuner is recording fine from the same antenna. I don't htinks it's the network since every other pc is working just fine.
Anyone have any experience with this type of a problem?

I've never seen the pixelation problem with the HDHomerun connected to a roof top antenna. I never tried the HDHomerun with an indoor antenna. I tried a digital TV converter box and HD TV hooked up to an indoor antenna, and saw pixelation on some channels. So, maybe you could try a different splitter, try bypassing the splitter on one of the HDHomerun inputs, or put an amplifier in front of the HDHomerun.
You might also check "Networking" in the "Task Manager" to find out how much bandwidth is being consumed on your network connection. Dave Last edited by davephan; 12-20-2009 at 04:01 AM. |

I just bought an HD-Homerun last month and struggled with the same problems.
Use the HD-Homerun configuration tool to view the signal strength. If the signal strength indicator is yellow or red, then that is likely your problem. Signal strength should be > 80% Signal quality should be > 90% Symbol quality MUST be 100% ALL THE TIME. If it ever waivers from 100% then you will get dropouts. The HD-Homerun (or at least my unit) seems to be very sensitive to signal strength. I thought that I had good signal strength in my house. All of my TV's work fine, but I had to add an amplifier to get a decent picture from the HD-Homerun. |
