I know this is an old thread, but did anyone manage to get this solved?
From my server, I can play a DVD directly using the sage-client. From my HD300 I cannot. I use SageMC - shouldn't it be possible to play dvd's directly from the servers drive, using the 'play DVD' menu?

what is there to solve? this works great for us.
the key is you need anydvd installed on the server. I'm not sure about the requirement to share the dvd drive, though. I don't have it shared. I just added the dvd drive as a video import directory.
