Clean uninstall?

I'm trying to get Sage back up on my server. I had XP and now I've upgraded to Win7. I have the same setup as I had before (drives) with the exception that I removed a cd rom drive.

After installing the OS, I tried installing Sage and then copying over the sage.properties and wiz.bin files. I ran Sage and everything seemed to be good but my recordings did not show up. I tried changing the setting that should fix the links to the recordings but it didn't work. My recordings were on my H: drive but being I took out the cd rom drive, the drive was named G:. I didn't catch this until after I installed Sage. I changed the letter of the drive to H: in windows but it didn't seem to matter.

I've been trying to uninstall Sage and start from scratch but it seem no matter what I do, Sage somehow remembers the settings I had before. I went to add/remove programs and removed Sage and then deleted C:\Program Files\SageTV .. Are additional settings stored somewhere else? Shouldn't running the install program again get me started with fresh/blank settings? I've tried rebooting between remove and install and that didn't work either. I know I'm missing the obvious but I'm stuck. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

No, because when you upgrade to a new version you want to preserve settings.
