/transcoder/jobs in Sage.properties

The sage.properties file on my server is now 237kb in size. About 3/4 of the file is /sage/transcoder jobs like the following:

Code:
transcoder/jobs/405/clip_duration=0
transcoder/jobs/405/clip_start=0
transcoder/jobs/405/destfile=\\\\standrews\\videos\\Isabella's Shows\\Diego\\Little Hawk Migrates.avi
transcoder/jobs/405/formatname=MPEG4-Good Quality Deinterlaced AVI
transcoder/jobs/405/processor=sagetv
transcoder/jobs/405/replace=true
transcoder/jobs/405/sourcefile=\\\\standrews\\videos\\Isabella's Shows\\Diego\\Little Hawk Migrates.avi
transcoder/jobs/405/status=5
transcoder/jobs/406/clip_duration=0
transcoder/jobs/406/clip_start=0
transcoder/jobs/406/destfile=\\\\standrews\\videos\\Isabella's Shows\\Dora\\Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.avi
transcoder/jobs/406/formatname=MPEG4-Good Quality Deinterlaced AVI
transcoder/jobs/406/processor=sagetv
transcoder/jobs/406/replace=true
transcoder/jobs/406/sourcefile=\\\\standrews\\videos\\Isabella's Shows\\Dora\\Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.avi
transcoder/jobs/406/status=5
Should these be in my sage.properties file or is this indicative of some problem?

Note - these jobs are likely generated from SJQ.

That is SJQ requesting those files to be transcoded to MPEG4 for storage, until they all complete you will see that in your properties file.

Optionally and by far optimally! You can change your ruleset to limit how many there are. In my case when trancoder as <5 jobs in queue and it finds a file with *.mpg extension and a file with a matching *.edl extension thats either more then 30 days old or marked as archived it gets transcoded. Else it just stays waits until there are fewer jobs or it stays MPEG2 until I watch and delete or archive.

You really don't want to transcode everything but if you just installed SJQ and setup rules for compression you will get a huge request dump like this if you don't have a rule checking the transcoder queue size.

You can manually delete those from your propertie file add the new rule and then restart.

Thanks Collin - these are old jobs that have already completed - maybe they failed initially or there was some other problem. I will delete them from the sage.properties file when I shut Sage down later on.

When using the defaults STV
Go to Media Center / Video Conversions
All your past and current conversions will be listed
Click on one of the conversion jobs listed and select "Clear All Completed Conversions"

That will clear out the entries in sage.properties

CollinR, do you mind posting your ruleset for SJQ, this is exactly what I have been looking for

I haven't upgraded to v3 yet and I just did a fresh install and haven't loaded v2 on it. Is it stored in a file? If so I can probably get it from a backup.
