Cropping with Sage transcoder?

Anyone know how to crop with transcoder. Basically, I would like to be able to convert HD shows to 480p avi (xvid w/AC3). This works great with true HD material but in the case with a 16x9 within a 4x3 within a 16x9 image, there is not enough resolution left for any kind of quality on the active pixels. I could just encode at full HD resolution but I would like the smaller file size, for better portability and playability (on lesser systems) if nothing else. Thanks in advance for your help.

It runs ffmpeg, so whatever the cmd line in ffmpeg should be translated to the SageTV syntax for the profile.

Well, the ffmpeg docuemetation says to put "-croptop 150" (for example to crop the top 150 lines) so I would guess the syntax would be croptop\=150 but I do not know where to put this as it appears to need to go next to the input file which the sage syntax does not have. Anyway here is what I tried but the encoder failed immediately

transcoder/formats/MPEG4-High\ Quality\ Deinterlaced & Cropped\ AVI=f\=avi;MCompressionDetails\=-vtag xvid -deinterlace;[bf\=vid;f\=mpeg4;br\=2000000;croptop\=150;cropbottom\=150;cropleft\=250; cropright\=250;aspect\=1.7777;w\=720;h\=480;fps\=29.97;][bf\=aud;]

I would have thought you were on the right track. I would send it to support asking how/where to put the options.
