best way to organize movies in a series?

I know this has been discussed but can't find it and not sure exactly what to search for. Any how I have
sage tv 6.6.2.218
sagemc 6.3.9a
bmi 3.0.4

I would like to know the best way to catagorize movies in a series, IE: Back to the future 1, back to the future 2, back to the future 3. I know that with smw there is a way to select like back to the future and have it drill down another list showing 1, 2, 3. is that possible without smw?

ok, did that and all was good.. for a bit anyhow, now even though all the movies ie: back to the future, harry potter, spider man, etc are in folders they show some to be in the folder and some to be out just like they were not in the folder. I am using file system view.

This is without smw as mentioned before plucky. just want to make sure we r on the same page

What version of the Phoenix API are you running? Make sure it is at least 1.44 or later.

ok, updated that file, still no go.. Also it has incorrect meta data for some movies, like one folder that it actually has all three movies in, spiderman, it has two spiderman 1 and one spiderman 3 instead of one each 1, 2, 3. The actually movies are 1, 2, 3. I have even deleted all the movie "property" files and did a full new scan and still not working correctly.

I can edit the meta data from the webui or stv either one and get the info corrected, however that still does not resolve the issue of having multiple movies in a folder but it not showing them that way in the file system view. it may show one or two in there and the rest on the outside of it.

you also need the latest prerelease of SageMC (same place you found the phoenix v1.44 api) they are both required to fix the file system view (sorry didnt mention that earlier) ...

yes sir, restarted sage multiple times..pc as well. and when i load the other file i was using it works fine. Also when i load the new file for some reason it doesn't list the movies in alphabetical order really, some are scattered in there randomly. The fan art and meta data are not there either...

so for the moment I am using my previous file..

what version of SageMC works? and which doesnt?

Is this the sagemc version you downloaded (6.3.9b_21)?
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...2&postcount=17

If you are/were upgrading from 6.3.8 did you install the full version of 6.3.9a first before upgrading to 6.3.9b_21?

I was having the same problem, some items showing in "My Videos" in SageMC in their correct folders while most were just out separately. (everything showed up fine in SageTV) The ones showing correctly in their correct folders are on HDD C:\ and the ones showing up separately are on HDD Y:\

Even though I had the videos on Y:\ in one main folder (named My SageTV videos) and then in subfolders, they continued to show up as if they were not in any folder at all.

All I had to do is to create a new folder on Y:\ and name it "My Documents" then move the subfolders from "My SageTV videos" to that new main folder "My Documents". Then add that directory to SageTV and all the videos now show up organized in their correct folders and no more "stray" single videos filling up the My Videos screen in SageMC !

Hope this helps, Merry Christmas !

i did a fresh install just a while back. was having issues with some other addons, it was a full version then updated to the 6.3.9b_21.

I will do a bit of testing when i get a little more time

Thanks again
