best way to organize movies in a series?
I know this has been discussed but can't find it and not sure exactly what to search for. Any how I have
sage tv 6.6.2.218 sagemc 6.3.9a bmi 3.0.4 I would like to know the best way to catagorize movies in a series, IE: Back to the future 1, back to the future 2, back to the future 3. I know that with smw there is a way to select like back to the future and have it drill down another list showing 1, 2, 3. is that possible without smw?

Yes put all movies under a "back to the future" folder and use file system view

ok, did that and all was good.. for a bit anyhow, now even though all the movies ie: back to the future, harry potter, spider man, etc are in folders they show some to be in the folder and some to be out just like they were not in the folder. I am using file system view.
This is without smw as mentioned before plucky. just want to make sure we r on the same page

What version of the Phoenix API are you running? Make sure it is at least 1.44 or later.

ok, updated that file, still no go.. Also it has incorrect meta data for some movies, like one folder that it actually has all three movies in, spiderman, it has two spiderman 1 and one spiderman 3 instead of one each 1, 2, 3. The actually movies are 1, 2, 3. I have even deleted all the movie "property" files and did a full new scan and still not working correctly.

I can edit the meta data from the webui or stv either one and get the info corrected, however that still does not resolve the issue of having multiple movies in a folder but it not showing them that way in the file system view. it may show one or two in there and the rest on the outside of it.

ok, got that but the next issue is none of my movies play now. When i select a movie from the browser it will show VIDEO_TS above the "My Videos" wording, then when i select it to play it nothin, the folder image disappears and nothing happens..

yes sir, restarted sage multiple times..pc as well. and when i load the other file i was using it works fine. Also when i load the new file for some reason it doesn't list the movies in alphabetical order really, some are scattered in there randomly. The fan art and meta data are not there either...
so for the moment I am using my previous file..

what version of SageMC works? and which doesnt?
Is this the sagemc version you downloaded (6.3.9b_21)? http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...2&postcount=17 If you are/were upgrading from 6.3.8 did you install the full version of 6.3.9a first before upgrading to 6.3.9b_21?

Even though I had the videos on Y:\ in one main folder (named My SageTV videos) and then in subfolders, they continued to show up as if they were not in any folder at all. All I had to do is to create a new folder on Y:\ and name it "My Documents" then move the subfolders from "My SageTV videos" to that new main folder "My Documents". Then add that directory to SageTV and all the videos now show up organized in their correct folders and no more "stray" single videos filling up the My Videos screen in SageMC ! Hope this helps, Merry Christmas ! Last edited by 73cuda; 12-24-2009 at 10:49 AM. |
