How to stop and save a recording
This has to be an easy one but it has me stumped anyway. A good for instance was tonight when the president's speech was over but the "program" wasn't due to end for another 20 minutes. I was recording it and at that time I picked the only option I could find and that was "Cancel this Recording". And that is just what it did. I lost everything. I could see the title in my record directory while it was recording, but when I cancelled it, it disappeared.
So how can I just go in and start and stop a recording in the places I choose? I had PowerCinema before and it was just a matter of pushing the red button to start and the little black square one to top it. The president's speech is no big loss but in the past I have lost stuff which was very important to me! |

What you are doing is confusing a DVR with a VCR. Unlike a VCR that you tell it to start and stop recording, in a DVR/PVR world you tell it to record X show and it just does that (regardless of when it actually stops). You need to just let the show finish recording and then Sage will save it (that is if you actually asked it to record and weren't just watching it live). When you told it to cancel, Sage then stopped recording and thought you didn't want it anymore.

SageMC has the functionality you are looking for. Hitting the Record button will give you the option to record a show from the beginning of the show time, or from that point forward. After you have been recording for a while, when you hit record again, it will give you the option to cancell the recording, or end the recording at that point and save what you recorded.
I dunno if that functionality has been made into a .stvi plug-in for the Default UI.

Multi-function stop will give you similar functionality for the default STV. When you hit stop, it will give you options to keep the file or not.
