Recording - Save non-recorded shows - How Long
One of the things I really like about Sage is that if you are watching a show, it records it even if you don't press record for longer term storage on the disk. Sometimes I accidentally "flip" channels by mistake and I find I can sometimes go back to what I was watching and Sage still saves everything (the mpg file was not erased) so here are my questions:
1. How can I safely go back to what I was watching so Sage does not purposely delete the mpg and still allow me to Rewind? Do I just go back to the guide and select the channel or do I risk Sage removing the mpg and starting again from scratch which is not what I would want? 2. Is there a parameter in setup somewhere that specifies how long it is before Sage looks to delete the file once I have changed channels by mistake or maybe my computer crashes or some other event that stops the show? Thanks again, Mike |

Live TV is usually deleted shortly after the airing is over & you've stopped watching it, unless you have IR on or have the setting not to delete live TV files when IR is off. It isn't removed as soon as you change the channel or just stop watching it while the airing is still live. (And, even if it isn't deleted when the show is over, if gets deleted when more disk space is needed.)

I think it would really be a great feature for a new release where it could just check the date and time of the file and compare that to real time. Then if a certain number of minutes (entered in setup) as not passed in setup, it would not delete the file yet.
I'm not sure about how others feel, but I can't begin to tell you the countless number of times, I've accidentally hit the Prev channel only to realize I wasn't recording and the show is then lost from that point back. It's even worse when the show is lost and you are behind real time. Thanks, Mike |
