Win 7 server, SageTV, Internal Tuner Problem
I had been running SageTV as a server on Windows 7 with 2 AverTVHD Duet tuners and 2 HD PVRs. I had been testing this setup for a few weeks with a monopole antenna and had not paid too much attention to lack of reception on certain channels.
Last week I decided to swap out my old server for the Win 7 platform. Now I'm connected to my outside antenna and should be receiving all of my OTA channels without issue, but that's not the case. SageTV is not able to tune any of the UHF HD channels under Windows 7. All of the VHF HD channels are fine. I put the tuners back in my old server (Vista) with same antenna/cables and everything works. I did reinstate Media Center in Win 7 just to test, and all of the UHF/VHF HD channels come through in Win 7 Media center. I also tried with the Hauppauge 2250 (my spare) with the same result. VHF yes, UHF no. Anyone else with this problem. Got a solution? By the way, the HD PVRs work perfectly thru SageTV on the Win7 server.

Had all sorts of tuner problems with Sage on Windows 7. My Avermedia M780 won't tune a bunch of channels (all higher channels, so probably the same issue as you're having just didn't connect the dots) and I can only use one of the Hauppauge 2250's tuners.

I'm just glad I still have the Vista machine to fall back on for now.

Really hope they get it sorted out soon, my HTPC is the only Vista box left and it's getting a complex.

So, i take it, it's not a good idea to use windows 7 for your sage server yet?
I'm about to rebuild my server and was going to use the spare Windows 7 ultimate license I have. Should I wait? |

My recommendation would be to wait. My solution (for now) was to put my Vista server back in place.

I had an issue where the VHF channels would not tune on different tuners in the house, but was able to resolve the issue by installing an amplifier.

My Sage server has been running on Windows 7 pro for a few months without any problems. I have 2 HD homeruns set up and reception is good on both VHF and UHF.

I'm wondering how internal tuners with QAM are working out under Win 7.
