Talking Yes, we want support for Spotify!

Being able to access my Spotify account via my HD200 is my dream! And it should be fairly easy to implement.

Am I the only one?

Millions of albums available on HD200 with a simple click?

It's not available in the U.S. I've never heard of it before.

Isn't it?!

Ah, that explains it! I've searched many times for spotify both here and on the HomeSeer forum but nothing turned up! Here I thought you americans didn't like convenient solutions...

I have read the comments and the most mentioned were Spotify, MOG, Zune Pass and Grooveshark. I would be happy to have any of them :-).

Spotify is here now; just need a connection or browser

I have Spotify on my PC. It is free and fabulous. Like a jukebox with everything in it; from 1930's big bands to Lady Gaga and all points in between. So we either need a plug-on under the OnLine tab or the ability to run a browser from SAGETV. I would definately pay for the utility.

Best bet is probably to see if you can have it incorporated to SlimPlayer plugin...

Spotify seems to have a wider selection than Rapsody. I heard that it has 15 million songs and is growing by 10,000 songs per day. The free service has limitations after awhile. The $10 a month service is supposed to have higher audio quality. I'd like to know if the $10 a month service audio quality is significantly higher than the free service.

There's another free service called Accuradio. It has many music channels, very few commercials, and very good audio quality.

spotify doesn't have stations as such, it's about picking and choosing what you want to listen.

another service similar to accuradio is tunein.com

Accuradio is a web only service that streams many formats with high quality audio with very few commercials or talk. Tunein.com links to broadcast radio stations which stream music. The broadcast radio stations have less music and more talk than Accuradio. There's a big difference between the two. Both would be good if you want listen to music in general, but not specific artists.

Spotify is great for selectively listening to many artists and selectively listening to music tracks. I've used Music Match, then Yahoo when the bought Music Match, then Rapsody when Yahoo failed and sold the music streaming. I am new to Spotify, but my early impressions is that they are much better than the other music services I've tried so far for selectively listening to music tracks.

tuneinradio (on iOS at least) has many internet-only "stations" including a lot from Accuradio.

Anyways, always nice to have choices!

Spotify has replaced itunes on my iPhone 4 I dont even use the ipod app anymore and I would love to see some kind of plugin that could control spotify and give realtime feedback on what is playing and also allow for a search function. then I could theoretically delete almost every mp3 i have. and negate the need for multi-TB harddrives in my system.
