Windows7 shares, inaccessible in HD200
Has anyone had any success getting windows 7 file shares working with the HD200? If so is there any specific settings required?
My shares were fine until I ran the update from vista to 7, now Sage sees the system but lists no shares under it. Even though my sage server can and does maintain the same mount points with no changes at all since the upgrade. Any suggestions? I currently have my shares setup as "Everyone, Full control, Change & Read". Thanks A |

Go back to the basics:
Do you have Windows 7 set for Home Network under Network and Sharing Center? Under Advanced Sharing Settings: Is Network Discovery turned on? If not turn it on. Is File and Printer Sharing turned on? If not turn it on. Do you have password protected sharing turned on? If you do your ID must have a password. Or turn it off. On the HD200 Did you turn on Windows Server? Did you enter the correct Workgroup name? Did you supply a user name? (and password, if needed) Gerry

I ran into this problem too. Gerry has it right... You need to go to the advanced sharing settings and turn off password protected sharing (I am assuming that is what you want since you gave 'Everyone' full access to the share). Also, you might have to leave Homegroup and enter a network workgroup.

I was just trying to get my Vista to work, and realized that the Firewall was blocking me getting to the server
Had to open ports : SageTV is allowed through these ports: (UDP) 31100; (TCP) 31099. |

Anyone have success making these changes? I did them and still cant access any media via HD200 in standalone mode. If I use the SageTV software running on my PC it plays my media, but I still want it to play in standalone mode. When i click on videos it gives me the spinning circle icon in the middle of the screen that its working but thats all it does. This problem definitely started after my Vista to Windows 7 upgrade. Thanks guys.

can an XP machine on the LAN see the share?
I had a heck of a time getting Win7 shares setup to act like they did in XP. But it is doable. Was a lot of trial and error for me, to get a Win 7 share seen by an XP machine, and with write access. |
