Problem with Win7, SageTV Service, and WHS
Here's my situation:
I have the latest version of SageTV (6.6.2), Win7 x64 Pro (New Install), and an HP MediaSmart WHS. I have a separate 'SageTV' user account on my WHS, just for storing videos. The SageTV account on my Win7 PC is an Administrator, and hidden from the Win7 login screen. Both 'SageTV' accounts have the same password. The SageTV Server logs into '.\SageTV'. When I ran under WinXP, this all worked fabulously, with no problems. With Win7, however, I now have a HUGE problem. Once I started using the SageTV Server with the 'SageTV' login, I was able to get to all my SageTV recordings just fine. The problem is this: I can no longer get to my personal account (non-'SageTV') on the WHS, and WHS is constantly nagging me that my passwords don't match. After a while, I realized that Win7 was always logging in to the WHS under my 'SageTV' user account, even when I had disabled the SageTV Server from running, and had rebooted my PC. I'm not sure how to fix this yet. Has anyone else seen this (and, is there a solution?) Thanks! AzJazz

I cannot say I completely understand what you are trying to do but try using the credential manager in Windows to manage how Win7 logs onto your network shares. I am not sure if you can have Windows log onto the same computer with two different sets of credentials but that is where you would manage it if you can.

If you want your systems to be based on SageTV system access then the User ID and password for the SageTV service should be the same user ID and password on each and every PC that wants the same access to the same files. (To make it easy to understand)
I have the SageTV user ID and password log in for the service. (It is also in the Administrator Group) My User ID and password is also in the Administrator Group and exists and each PC with all permissions to the files I access. (The PC auto login with that user ID and password. All those PCs do is SageTV.)The key is be consistent on the PC with ID and password. Gerry
