HD-PVR->H.264->TVclient with 9400GT stutters!
Ok I am setting up a new server with HD-PVR only
So far so good. But I want to watch files on TVclient that has Nvidia 9400GT video card has built in H.264 codec But can't figure out how to get sageTV TV client to use! picture stutters. CPU usage on server is only 5-10% TV client is over 70% I purchased 9400gt just for playing H.264 Thanks, Ray Last edited by rnewman; 10-19-2009 at 05:37 AM. You'll need PowerDVD 8 or 9, TMT 2 or 3, or look at the Antipack. These will provide video decoders that will take advantage of the hardware acceleration of your cards. Video drivers are not enough.

OK!
got power DVD 9 and cpu usage went down to 2-3% Server cpu usage is 3-5% BUT I still have stuttering. On new server (amd 3800+) Have: HD PVR driver version 1.5.6 and Arcsoft updater took care of itself. I thought it was working for about 30 minutes after I installed powerdvd9 and selected codec. But now stuttering is very bad. Thanks, Ray |

Are you using VMR9 as your video renderer?

Video Renderer: VMR9
current H.264 Video Decoder: CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD9) Stuttering was during watching live. I just sampled recorded file and it seems ok. Only watched for 3-4 minutes. I do have gigbit lan. Maybe USB problem? Will check more and report. Ray |

Use Overlay or EVR (If you have Windows Vista). I have always found VMR9 to be problematic in SageTV.

When I startup TV client live or recording.
I get stuttering. 5-7 minutes worth. But after some time it seems to settle down. Interesting! Does TV client have a buffer? Thanks, Ray |

OK! Sort of............
I have three sagetv servers right now with one TV client 4 analog tuners 4 HDhomeRun (2x2) 1 HD-pvr Had tweeked-up TV Client video/audio codecs for 4 analog or 4 HD servers. works great. Can re-tweek for HD-PVR with powerdvd 9 and it works ok. BUT it will not work with hdhomerun server powerdvd 9 will play .ts file from HD-pvr server SO......................... My TVClient I can only tweek for analog and HDhomeRun servers then I have to use powerdvd9 to view hd-pvr .ts files Any suggestions before I give up? Thanks, Ray |
