Dual PCI-x DVB-T tuner

Hi
Just had a DVB-T tuner die in my SageTV server...

Can anyone reccommend a PCI-express DUal DVB-T tuner card suitable for the UK?

The only dual tuner DVB-Ts I can find are either half height or PCI.

One capable of receiving HD would be ideal.

I have a Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT. Its great.

You can get them from www.scan.co.uk

I'd highly recommend it.

HD Freeview is supposedly DVB-T2 and there aren't any cards out yet.

I have one of those too - I'm very pleased with it.

Though I should say initially it would not work with my Dell Dimension 9100 and I had to send it to Germany for a hardware mod.

The company were great though and turned it around very quickly.

Hi all,

I have a Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT. Its great.
I've been struggling for a couple of weeks now to get a 2400i to work with Sage on a new WHS box (see sig). I actually have two 2400i's that i want to get working so i can have four tuners in total.

Initially i wondered if there was a problem with 4gig of RAM, but i tried it with 2gigs and there was no difference. The problem is that i can only get one of the four tuners to work.

I am thinking that they are both faulty cards (there were bought 2nd hand - and i've just tried one of the cards in an XP machine and getting the same fault).

Is there a special trick to getting both of the tuners in the 2400i to work with SageTV? is there anything special you need to do on a WHS box?

Do you need DirectX installed on the WHS?

i am using the BDA Driver 1.1.0.284

what were the symptoms? how did you get this done?

are there any other suggestions? i'm wondering weather to go down the HDHomerun route...

Thanks

I'm using the same drivers on mine and it works fine.

Do you see all the tuners in Sage?

If it only shows one, it might be that Sage has an entry in the sage.properties file under mmc/ignore_encoders= and it might have the second tuner in there.

If you can see all the tuners, have you done a channel scan and created a frq file for each source?

Hi,

yes i can see all of the tuners in sage.
i can also see them using "ScanChannelsBDA-UK 2.6.1 Sage".
But no matter on the application i use, i can only find channels with one tuner - it is always the same physical tuner, it doesn't matter if i swap the dual tuner cards around, or just use one card on it's own.

As i said in my last post, i strongly suspect that both cards are broken (i now have the card that has one of it's tuners functioning in my XP machine, and even with the TerraTech software, i can't find any channels on the 2nd tuner).

I'm tempted to buy a new 2400i, but i have lost a bit of faith in them. The problem with the HDHomerun, is that it is expensive.

I can't find a combined WHS/SageTV compatibility list on the forums. is anybody aware of a current one?

Thanks for your suggestions
