Video Source Setup - No providers listed - Program Guide = No Data

Does anyone know what to do to fix a problem where no providers are listed for any zip code you enter while setting up a video source?

Problem first occurred earlier this week when my entire Program Guide showed "No Data" for every program. I removed the video sources and tried to add them back - but I get a blank screen for provider selection see below...

I've tried multiple known zip codes to no avail.

Ok, I am stumped. I went away on a trip and come back to only 3 days of EPG data, everything else is "No Data."

I went through the FAQ and tried the things suggested. No improvement. I checked and my scheduled lookahead is still 14 days. I turned on debug, and as far as I can tell it is downloading data, but only up to about 6pm on 10/14. I forwarded port 7760 , and turned off the Windows Firewall on my WHS SageTV server. Still nothing past 10/14. Any idea?

Also, I tried changing the EPG source provider on a couple of my tuners and got a blank screen to choose from. I am assuming that is tied to my problem, but my debug files looks like it is down loading data, but I could be wrong.

Please help. Thanks so much in advance.

Similar to above: double check your software and hardware firewalls and get a debug log.

Thanks for the help. Attached is a debug log. Windows firewall is disabled. Port 7760 is set as an exception (just in case). Port 7760 is forwarded on my router. No other hardware or software firewalls. Stared SageTV, forced EPG update, then shut down. It looks like the EPG only grabbed out to 10/14 in the log file. Why does it only go out that far?

Not that this helps at all, but I completely uninstalled my old version and installed the latest and it magically works again.

Thanks so much.

Before I saw your post I deleted my Sage.properties file and allowed it to recreate one. I then went in and setup one of my tuners and noticed that everything went fine and I got the EPG data. Therefore I knew I had something wrong somewhere.

I then saw your post and the light bulb went off. I had consulted the FAQ earlier as I mentioned, and did what I thought was "clear" the 'server_update_id' related property lines. I took that as "delete" the 'server_update_id' related property lines thinking it would recreate them. I then grabbed this mornings daily Sage.properties file backup (hooray for automated backups) and then deleted the values of the 'server_update_id' related property lines and not the property and all. Low and behold that looks to be it. I now have my EPG data back. Thanks for your help and sorry for any inconvenience.

Ok, there is one more problem. SageTV now does not use all of my tuners. I replaced my Sage.properties file with a backup from earlier today, and it show that my other tuners exist, but it does not use any of the ones that I did not setup during my testing as mentioned above. Why would it think the others are not used? Is there an easy way to get them acknowledged by sage as usable tuners?

I've been living on the edge, trying out some beta software for extending SageTV (don't try this at home.... Somehow I have broken my EPG and don't know how to fix it (save re-installing Sage). I get a blank screen in the video source setup wizard asking to "Please select your cable or satellite provider" (image attached). Also, my EPG never updates. Can anyone point me to what I might have broken and how I might fix it?

I am having the identical problem as Calibrate (blank provider screen). I have opened port 7760 in my windows firewall on my SageTV server (although EPG has been working fine without this for many months). I have attached my log file. Lookign forward to your guidance.

Try shutting down SageTV and removing 'true' from the end of this line in the sage.properties file:

epg/epg_import_plugin=true

I think using an external import plugin disables the ability to configure your EPG using SageTVs builtin Zap2It EPG stuff. I ran into the same problem with I setup XMLTV for the old WebFeedEncoder...I have to take the XMLTV stuff out of that epg_import_plugin line if I need to reconfigure the Zap2It EPG lineups.
