Do you think th enew Acer AspireRevo AR1600-U910H at Newegg will run the software?
I just spotted the Acer AspireRevo AR1600-U910H at NewEgg for ~$200. I am thinking I'd like to put it on my main TV with the Sage software and move my extender (HD200) to another room. Currently I run the extender in stand alone and do nothing with my server license. Does anyone spot any gotchas I'm missing? It's not a powerhouse, but I want to serve as a Sage server and an occasional web browser (10 foot) and that's about it?
Here's the link. Thanks, I appreciate any constructive thoughts. -Dave Roberts |

Depends on what OS you're putting on the client. ION LE is NOT the same as ION graphics. In ION LE they left out support for DirectX 10. So this is more aimed at netbooks running Windows XP. It should still hardware accelerate mpeg2 and h.264 but won't take advantage of Vista/Windows 7 technology. Let us know how it goes. It could work just fine.

I have this one from Newegg that I use only as a server.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16856107043 It does a great job. It can't handle transcoding very well and comskip on HD PVR files takes a long time, but everything else works great for me. For you to use a similar powered machine also as a client will depend on your video card. Personally, I plan to stick with the extenders for the WAF and the low hassle factor. |

I also saw this. I was wondering if it would be a good candidate to replace the HD100? It has hdmit and vga outputs.
