Cant run software- Errors
I am trying your software and when I run it, I get invalid page fault in kernal32. Not only that but when I click 'Ok' box, the error pops up again and will not go away.

Even after I do a Ctrl-Alt-Del "End task", I still get a 'hole' in my screen where the error box was, only rebooting seems to work.

I have uninstalled Java and reinstalled as well as your software many times to no avail.

I am running Win98SE, 300+MB RAM, AMD 900MHZ Thunderbird, w/ Creative DVCR and Geforce Ti4200 128MB grafics card.

Any help appreciated.

Try the latest version, 1.3.7RC1 at http://sage.tv/beta.html It fixes the problem you're having on Win98.

Tried that
Tried the beta, got past the 1st screen and at the menu it crashed, same as b/4.

Any registry things or tricks to make sure I got all of the 1st install?

Does the Creative software that came with the card work on your machine?

To do a full reinstall, remove Sage, then delete the Frey Technologies folder, then install Sage.

as for the reinstall thats how I did it, so no issue there - any other ideas?

Just tried it one more time to be sure - still getting error - "SageTV caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll at 01af:bff87ede"

if that helps any

Do you have the Creative software disabled when you run Sage? Is there a sagetv_x.txt or hs_err_pid.log file in the SageTV folder? If so, please post it.

Yeah, I have it so it never loads, even at startup.

no such log in the Frey folder.

By the way - for a goof I tried new video drivers - didnt help.

You said you tried the beta, but did you try 1.3.7RC1? The bug with Win98SE was just fixed in that release.

So you never even see the SageTV splash screen, right? After you click OK on the reminder window it crashes and dies?

Well I appear to be getting closer, I reinstalled everything inc 1.3.7RC1 and I get to the splash screen, starts loading and then it says that my card is installed right or some other application is using it. But the card is working and no other app is using it, it appears to happen right at or just before the bottom says something about cleaning mpeg encoders (it goes quick), then the main screen loads but the program is dead.

Now you should have a log file in your folder...post that please.

What other video capture hardware do you have installed? It's attempting to load another capture device first to see what it is and those are the errors you're seeing. You can safely ignore those error messages.

I have no other capture device - if you mean hardware. I have a webcam, and a scanner. As for ignoring the error messages, Id love to, but when I get to the main screen the thing freezes.

Did you click OK to close the error messages? If they became hidden, try Alt-Tabbing to them and closing them that way.

A webcam is a capture device.

Yes I hit okay, and one time it loaded 'normally' and worked, and now it is again freezing on the menu page.
