I just successfully installed SageTV with a HD-PVR running the Hauppauge blaster on my new WHS setup, so I know it should work. Given the strange errors, I would do this.
1) Uninstall SageTV - leave the SageTV program folder alone - do NOT delete it. 2) Use the Hauppauge HCW Clear program to remove all aspects of the existing Hauppauge setup. (Down load from Hauppauge support site if needed - you'll find it on the left hand column). 3) Reboot 4) Reinstall HD-PVR drivers. 5) Reinstall the three IR Related programs 6) Open BlastCfg program and set it to the proper settings. Send IR commands out to make sure they work with the STB. Close program. 7) Reboot - make sure the IR icon is in the system tray when system restarts. 8) Install SageTV (I assume you are using the SageTV for WHS version but I have to ask). 9) Make sure the HD-PVR IR setup points to the correct IR device and file (if not, change and reboot). Hopefully that will work.

Before this error comes up it asks for admin privaleges, I am all ready logged in as the admin. I actually tried installing the software and saw if I could load blastcfg on my client and I could run the software. I never confirmed if it actually worked though with the hardware. So it seems to be some sort of permisions issue with WHS. |

3 hours later and still no channel changing.
curren status is as follows -Serial control doesn't work through the sd box -blastcfg will make the Ir blink, USBuirt flashes so it is sending an IR signal but no channel changing is going on. -I created a folder in remotecodes\common called Hauppage Ir blaster and placed the actisys IR DCT2000.ir file in there. I didn't rename it to stub.ir either. When playing around with the channel setup, in sage, and previewing the channel the blaster will blink(slightly dimmer) but the moto box doesn't change channels. -Firewire is hooked up. Drivers are installed and capdvhs can capture streams from it. Since I have whs I can't get the timmoore files working. I can't figure out how to get sage to change the channel though, I have read a lot of the posts and I just feel like this after reading them I only have one box with a firewire output so maybe it will be eay to resolve Last edited by AJ Bertelson; 09-30-2009 at 08:03 PM. |

If SageTV was already installed on the machine before you started with the HD-PVR, then that may be your issue. I would recommend uninstalling SageTV (don't worry - you won't loose any settings, recording history, etc - just do NOT manually delete the SageTV folder). Once it is uninstalled reboot and then reinstall SageTV buy running the installer again. Basically you want all the Hauppage stuff installed BEFORE installing SageTV. By uninstalling and reinstalling, you are putting Sage on after the Hauppauge stuff.

I got a prompt and changed the directory to the file that I had it installed in and attempted to run the above command line. Do I just need a to open a command prompt and enter the command line? The stubevice ir is set to StubDevice 38000 400 2 Quote:
Also sagetv is not installed on the c: drive. edit 1 Ok so I have gotten the 1394 connection to change channels through channel.exe, I haven't been able to get it to interface with sagetv though. I have the exe tuner and the correctly named file as opus4 specified. I don't have teh exe tuner created in the registry either. I have restarted the sage service and have gotten nothing. edit 2 and finally this is where I am at with regedit for the command of exemutiltunerplugin C:\Program Files\Timmmoore\MCE 2005 STB Controller\channelw.exe -f -a:4 %DEVICE% %CHANNEL% Still no resolution in sage, but it will change the channel in the channel command prompt. edit 3 got it to work, I was putting the stub device file in the multi tuner folder instead of the remotescodes folder. Also I didn't create a new ir file, just put the stuff in the stubdevice file, and finally I changed it over at the details section of sage to my correct number for the device, which was 2. Didn't you say you had a USB-UIRT? You really should just go with that for both boxes. Works well, and natively in Sage. the Hauppauge basters work, but so many people have had so many problems getting them going, I'd just skip it and use the USB-UIRT.

My UIRT doesn't have zone control.

It would have to be pretty old not to have zone support.
