HDPVR to HDHR - Thinking of making the switch

I'm thinking of picking up an HDHR and dropping my HDPVR (the HDPVR has proved to be very unreliable). Will the HDHR pick up the normal channels that I recieve through the cable (without the STB). With comcast and the cable plugged into my HDTV, I get channels 2 thru 100 (or something like that)

No, Only non-ecrypted QAM channels. Check here: http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/channels

As long as they are of the unencrypted, digital QAM variety, yes. It won't receive any of the analog channels.

Note, with the digital conversion happening this year, Comcast, even though they aren't compelled to, has said they plan to move their analog channels to the digital domain as well. I've noticed many of the analog channels having moved to QAM on my HDHR recently.
