How are 2 HDPVR setups running. Thinking about adding a 2nd.
I've played with the idea of getting a second HDPVR but I have a few concerns. I have one of the original units that's been working fine. Doesn't run hot, but also sits in the basement plugged into my Sage server. Never got the HDPVR IR control to work so I use the USB-UIRT. Dish network STB is set to 720P and I record with analog audio input. I did install the updated drivers and tried the digital audio input but seemed to have some playback issues, so I changed back. I like to tinker but not that much. Runs 27/7 and haven't had to reset or reboot in the last 4 months. My questions are:
1: Are 2 units now officially supported with the newest drivers? I know some are doing this and would like to know how reliable its been. Would there be a conflict using 2 different version units? 2: I'm assuming that I won't be able to use the HDPVR IR and have never set up the USB-UIRT to control 2 devices. How difficult is that? |

Been using 2 HDPVRs for a while...
You really shouldnt have any issues using multiple HDPVRs and controlling the settop boxes with a USB-UIRT. I connected the two boxes I am using on separate zones in the USB-UIRT and created a .ir file for each zone.
This is a good post, the meat of the activity starts with port #9 http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...&highlight=.ir DQ

1. I have two different rev versions running without any issue.
2. I am using the USBUIRT with just one zone and have changed the remote addresses of my STB's. I'm with Bell, so not sure if the boxes you are controlling will allow you to do that or not.
