BMT & Web SErver?

I've installed the BMT (which uses teh jetty webserver)...and now I'm thinking of installing Neilm's web server...how do I do that? Do I just dump the webserver files (and not install the 'web server'?) or will I wind up w/ 2 different webservers on my computer?

thanks,

rwc

If you download the latest release and install the exe you will end up with a second web server. Myself, jreichen and stuckless have been working on porting nielm's webserver into a war file that will run in Jetty (thereby removing the need to install an additional web server). We're actually able to build the war file and I've been running it happily in Jetty for almost two months. I expect it will be an option for the next release, but the next release and whether or not they choose to include the war option is dependent on nielm/jreichen and I don't know what their plans are.

That's real nice to hear. I've been hoping that we'll end up having to run only a single webserver for everything. Here's hoping that Nielm and jreichen release the jetty version soon.

Also a question. Will the porting of Nielm's to a war file mean that although there will only be one webserver there will still be two different websites, each with their own distinct URL's? Ideally, I would like a single Sage URL that serves up either the full version or the mobile one depending on the browser used.

As it stands, they're two separate apps, two separate contexts, so two separate URLs within Jetty. Someone could write a separate plugin that could determine the type of device you're connecting from and forward you to the appropriate URL, but seems like overkill given a simple bookmark to either site on each device would do the same thing.

I was hoping to release it by now but haven't had a chance. The combination of things getting busy at work, great weather, and my build server going down hasn't exactly helped matters
