Aspect Ratio Mode stuck on Fill (MVP)

I can't get the aspect ratio mode on my extender to be anything other than Fill. Under the detailed setup there is no option to choose on the extender. I can change it on the PC but it doesn't seem to effect the extender at all. It is annoying because it cuts the edges off widescreen videos. I'm using an SDTV and have the ratio set to 4:3 on the extender and the PC. But I can't find a way to change the mode from fill on the extender.

I used to be able to change it using the options menu when playing a video, but now when I select that a blank box comes up. I'm using 6.6 and plan to try going back to 6.5 tomorrow.

Any ideas?

Try hitting options while you're watching a video, there should be an Aspect Ratio option (where you can set the default) or use teh Aspect button on the remote.

Are you using the default STV? If so, then it will tell you that you need to select the aspect ratio during playback.

What exactly are you selecting when you see a blank dialog? If you choose the Aspect Ratio Mode button in the Options dialog, then the following dialog is blank... I'm not really sure what would cause that. Is the firmware up to date on the extender?

What extender do you have?

I've tried the default STV and SageMC, I'm using a Hauppauge MediaMVP.

In SageMC when I choose options during playback and then AR Mode the box that appears is blank and I have to hit back to get out of it. If I use the AR Mode toggle button on the remote a box appears in the corner that says AR: Fill, but doesn't change when I keep hitting the button.

In the default STV I can't find AR Mode under the options menu, but when I hit the button on the remote I get the same results as SageMC.

It's not just widescreen, it is cutting the edges off 4:3 video too. I tried changing the resolution from 720x480 to 720x575. I tried using all the different aspect ratios as well, 4:3, 5:4, 16:9, 16:10. None of the changes made any difference at all. I tried zoom, it didn't change at all. It seems like the settings arent taking effect, which is why I thought I should try a reinstall later today when I have time.

That happens to me using SageMC on the MVP. Where you would normally see the options to choose source, fill, whatever you have set up, there is just a blank, empty "bubble".

You only see this option WHILE playing the video. Pressing the ASPECT button on the HD200 remote WHILE the video is playing will cycle through the settings.

Are you using SageMC? Make sure you have the latest pre-release version. I'm sur eyou will find it works correctly in the default STV.

Ok a little more information. If the server is set on source the MVP will be on source. If the server is on fill the MVP will be on fill. If I unplug the mvp and reload it, it will use the setting from whatever the server is set to at that time. When I bring up the option menu it will say "Aspect Ratio Mode: Source" and selecting it will bring up a little gray box that has nothing selectable in it. I have attached pics so you can see what it looks like. This is really getting annoying and I can not find any options to fix this. Is there anything in any properties file that will fix this. I deleted the client properties file and the backup and let it make a new one still nothing. And this is happening to ALL of my MVP's. Help please

Can someone be so kind as to look at you client properties file and see if there is anything in it about aspect ratio? I am at my wits end with this. Nothing I try is making any difference. Thanks everyone!

I received a reply from support and they said
" I spoke with a developer and he said the MVP does not have the
capabilities to change aspect ratio's. That is why that option is not available in the default STV."
I know it worked a month ago and now it doesn't!
