SageTV works on one TV, but not the other
Hi,
I have a problem with a signal not showing up on my TV. I've got SageTV setup on a Windows XP box with a WinTV-HVR-1600. I'm running the video and audio out via HDMI using the ATI Function driver. The setup goes through my Onkyo TX-SR507, which has 2 HDMI in ports on the back. The other HDMI in port is my Uverse DVR. My signal goes out from the Onkyo to a HDMI splitter, where it is distributed/mirrored two two different TVs in the house. The way it functions is, if I watch the Video1, I'm watching my Uverse DVR. If I watch Video2, I'm watching my SageTV box. Here's where I'm having trouble. When I watch Video1, my Uverse video and sound shows up on both TVs. If I watch Video2, the SageTV works on one of my TVs, but not the other. Any thoughts at what could cause this? My thinking is that, since my UverseDVR works perfectly, it can't be in the connections. Is there some sort of setting that would reek havoc on one TV, but not the other? The TVs are both HD but not the same brand or model. The message I get on the TV that doesn't work is "not supported mode." I've checked that the aspect ratio on both SageTV and the TV matches (16:9). I didn't see any other setting that looked like it would matter. Thanks for your help on this, Lynn Last edited by lcurrie; 08-09-2009 at 11:25 AM. Reason: additional info added |

Have you tried swapping around the boxes? Could be a defective input port on the Onkyo. Truthfully, I am not sure why you would be having these problems at all, but I am just trying to think of things to try.

Hi Paul,
I tried this. No cigar. Thanks for the thought though. My next step is going to be to try a direct connection between the sage box and the tv. I've done this before with no problems, but I'm going to try again. Maybe I've changed a setting that is screwing something up. Lynn |

Does it happen on all channels? As I recall I had a problem with my Sony XBR4 presenting the same error message, but only on 480p when ported through my Sony receiver's HDMI connection. I was using an extender, however, and just took 480p out of the equation.
