Really weird problem with MKV files!

Howdy.

Just did a complete reinstall on my SageTV client PC and I seem to have some weird bug when playing MKV files.

This is my setup
C2D 8400 with 4GB ram, ATI 4850, Vista Ultimate SP2 and the latest SageTV client 6.2

Codecs:
PowerDVD9/PowerDVD8 for x264/h264 files
MPC-HC for VC1

Here's the problem. If I select EVR rendering in SageTV setup and play the mkv files, the screen starts tearing and jumping and becomes all green and few seconds later it completely stops playing the file. If I switch over to VMR9, everything plays perfectly without any glitch.
However, I would like to stick with EVR and I am not sure if I need to tinker around with some additional settings to get EVR working properly from within Sage.

Thanks

Did you enable directshow playback for all files?

I am pretty sure that directshow playback is enabled. But here's the thing, I tried the same file in Graphstudio using EVR and it plays perfectly.

Then it's either a not using DirectShow or a graphbuilding problem and should be easy to fix.

Finally solved it. Got rid of Haali and installed Gabest MKV splitter along with Gabest MPEG & MP4 splitter. Also made MPC-HC default codec for H264 and VC1 files. Everything works flawlessly now.

I was under the impression that the built-in sage splitter now supports MKV files, and that haali or Gabest are not required anymore.
