"Trial" message shown in HD Theater
I have valid client and server SageTV licenses that I've been using for about a year now. I purchased the HD Theater and it arrived yesterday. I had no problems getting it installed, but when I connect to my SageTV server it displays a "15 day TRIAL" message. This message is not displayed when I connect to the server using SageTV client on my laptop.
I've updated the HD Theater box to the latest firmware and bounced the server but the message doesn't go away. Can someone explain what my issue is and how to resolve it? I'm running SageTV version 6.4.8.1 on Mac OS X. Thanks, David H. |

That's your problem. You need to upgrade your SageTV software to the latest version in order for the software to see it as an HD200. 6.4.8.1 doesn't recognize the HD200's built-in extender license.

Also note that SageTV Client licenses are not the same as Extender/Placeshifter licenses. A Client license is good only for SageTV Client, and only on the specific machine where the Client software is installed.

But this doesn't apply because the HD200 has its own built-in license.

It seemed relevant to me because the OP owns a Client license and expected it to work for Extenders, which is a misunderstanding that seemed worth correcting.

Very true. I didn't catch that in the original post.
Media extenders and SageTV Clients use different licenses. They are not interchangeable.
