UI Hangs in Windows 7

I have bee using SageMC for some time and recently my XP based installation started to show signs of instability (crashes etc) As i have wanted to tery runnig with EVR for some time to try an get rid of some slight stuttering on HD playback i finally bit the bullet and spent a happy (???) weekend trying to upgrade Windows 7 and Sage 6.6.2.

Bottom line is no apparent improvement in playback performance AND a new problem where the UI hangs for 10s of seconds at a time ... apparently coupled with lots of network traffic between my Sage Box and the NAS boxes with all my video files.

Has anyone else experienced something similar or am i out on my own here?

I use a WHS so I only really deal with the client for playback.

I have not had the delay issue but have had some problems with EVR playback. I have been experimenting with different codecs and setups and have found that the ATI 780G\790G solutions just will not do EVR very well under Window7 at full 1920x1080 with any codec. (CoreAVC is best) I do get great results for most things under Overlay except for VC1 BluRay rips. I have an ATI 4550 that works perfectly under EVR at any resolution.

Thanks for the input.... I do have a 4550 so i just tried updating the drivers and that has improved EVR playback... still not stutter free but *much* improved. Still have the UI hang with symultanious high (unexpected) NAS activity. I wonder if Windows is trying to catalog these drives or something ... I will try CoreAVC thanks for the tip.
