System Hangs when.....

I am running the RC copy 2.0 with a Pvr 350 on a p4 1.8 w/ 512 ram , ATI 7500 w/ cat drivers. I use sonic codec with the cpu code patch and 7200 rpm drives.

I find the application hangs when I am recording and start watching from an earlier point and the scheduled recording comes to the end.

The picture will freeze and the app no longer responds and I must end task to get out. Then when I try to restart the app, I get cross stream errors and have to restart the system.

I also find that when I watch a b-ball game and do a lot of commerical skipping it hangs in much the same way as discribed above.

Anyone else find this ??? I love the app , but this can be a pain

thanks
david

I had this type of issue before using the latest drivers for the 350. They are in the New Hauppauge Beta Drivers for IVAC15/16 Combination thread.

edit: missed the recording part, no longer sure if this is the same problem as I encountered. My system hung when just playing a file to the end.

I believe these problems still exist in the latest drivers. I have posted 3 outstanding issues I believe still exist in that version of the drivers.

actually these drivers have only been posted for a week or so
here at the forum and are not posted at hauppauge's website or SHS's forum

but you can find these drivers in SHS's ftp site under the mixed drivers folder

and update your version of Sage

thanks for the info, i'll try the drivers later and report back.

One thing I didn't make clear, the lock ups during skipping are when using a keyboard and not the remote. I have never tried the remote just a gyro rf keyboard.

The one thing I have noticed is that when I task out I find a windows program Ctfmon is hung as well. I have tried it with this app shut down and still get problems, but wonder if its a dll conflict problem that's causing the issue?

try disabling office from starting with your computer

actually disable everything but your video card, sage, keyboard, mouse, remote control, and antivirus/firewall

use msconfig and you do not need any of that to start with your computer but what is listed above (including java and other things which just search for updates or run in the background pointlessly)

start menu
then run
then type msconfig
