SageTV client/placeshifter for snow leopard?

I know it's a little premature, but I tried loading a the latest 6.6.1 mac placeshifter client on a snow leopard test system. It launched but only got a white screen after connecting to the server.

So a beta version would be nice :-)

what version of Java is on 10.6?

Does the Sage client or server function properly on 10.6?

It is likely an issue with the video card driver. It didn't work for me when I tried it a few months ago either.

Could be a 64 bit issue... Latest pushed update reports...

Have you tried the client vs. placeshifter?

I'm having the same problem using the Developer Preview of Snow Leopard. Placeshifter loads up to a white screen and that's it.

I can't even try Client because my trial has expired and neither license key I have are being accepted (I've emailed support about this).

Same here with placeshifter and 10.6 GM Snow Leopard.

Running in 32 bit mode. Don't think it's a video driver issue.

I get the white screen when telling the placeshifter to connect. Console messages show multiple java-related errors.

I just tried running mac version of placeshifter 6.6.1 on Snow Leopard (10A432).

I get white screen at first, but then it DOES load up ok (takes about 5-10 sec tho) The only thing is the UI graphics are real jagged. This is running on an iMac C2D 20", with ati HD2600. The video plays fine, but the UI graphics are kind of messed up for some reason. This is both in the regular STV and in SageMC. The server is a Mac version tho, so that might make a difference.

Running Snow Leopard (doesn't matter 32 bit or 64 bit) and current Sage Placeshifter for Mac - Current SageTV server on Win 7.

Tried changing Java setting utility Preference for plugins and applications from 64 bit to 32 bit - no difference.

It is a bit finicky, but it DOES work (on my system)...sometimes I have to resize the menu which seems to "trigger" it on. Try grabbing the low right corner and resize just a bit, and see what happens...

Thanks for the tip. I worked - sort of. The menu comes up slightly distorted, but video seems to stream OK.

Yep, that's exactly what it does on mine, but when you play video, it looks ok...

I am running the 6.6.1 Mac Client on Snow Leopard & it works pretty much OK. The one problem is with viewing the one high definition H.264 BBC HD channel which has no audio & the video plays very slowly & the widescreen aspect ratio is squidged up with black bars down either side. Basically it's unwatchable. This is at least an improvement over running on Leopard where there was no video although the audio did work. The server is running Windows 7.

SageTV on iMAC24 with Snow Leopard

I'm seeing the exact same problem as previous posters. Barely resizing the window gives me blocky menus, but until I do that it's a white screen. Any plans to update the Placeshifter client to be compatible with Snow Tiger?

Arpotu.

I reported the problem this weekend and got this reply today:

We don't support Snow Leopard at this time. We are working on fixing the
issues with it.

Placeshifter doesn't work after Snow Leopard Install

I just tried to run Placeshifter on my iMac and all I get is a blank white screen when I connect. I don't see the login screen or anything. The only change my system is updating to Snow Leopard and then the upgrade to 10.6.1 today. Anybody else having problems
