Still can't get R5000-HD to work with STV
Trying to get this thing to work has been a nightmare. I finally got a HDD-201 with a working R5000-HD mod, my R5000 SageTV license and I'm trying to get this running, with no luck so far. Here's where I am:
On the R5000-HD side: 1. The R5000-HD software in standalone mode works perfectly with the modified HDD201. 2. I installed the SageTV version, input the license key, and tested the software again, works perfectly. 4. Message reads: SageTV Server Off 3. I enabled the SageTV server on port: 6969 4. Message reads: SageTV. Waiting for connection on Port 6969 --------------------- On the SageTV side: 1. Bring up the server and select: HD200-4DTV-922 on 127.0.0.1:6969 2. Next screen, select USB 3. SageTV message: Waiting for video preview to load -------------------- On he R5000-HD side: 1. Message appears: SageTV.Ch F4-1, E:\SageTV-Rec\HD2004DTV922 on 1270016969USB-0.mpgbuf 2. R5000-HD software crashes!!! The above sequence is 100% reproducible. I've tried bring up SageTV first, same result. R5000-HD always crashes just after the message: (SageTV.Ch F4-1, E:\SageTV-Rec\HD2004DTV922 on 1270016969USB-0.mpgbuf) displays. Any ideas? (Yes, I've checked and double-checked the necessary changes to SageTV.Properties) |

Are you running the latest version of the r5000 software? Are u starting the r5000 software before the sagetv service
The r5000 should change from waiting to ping recieved from sagetv in the r5000 software |

2. Yes, I've tried both ways. As you say, when brought up in this sequence, the R5000 software shows a connection is made. After completing SageTV's source setup (clicking on USB), while it's waiting for preview video, the status on the R5000 changes as indicated above, then, a second or two later, crashes. |

I finally got this thing running... sort of. I switched computers and it started to work. Same settings. The one I am using now is an ancient P4 I found in the garage. Fan noise is so bad it is like trying to watch TV in a wind tunnel, but I'll worry about that later.
Watching live TV seems sort of hit and miss. Not sure what the problem is. I enabled channel surfing int R5000-HD. Putting that aside for the moment, I'm trying to set up Programmed Recording. I tried the 4DTV guide, but it has several errors and missing channels. My next try will be to use the DirecTV schedule and remap the channels for 4DTV. If you have any pointers I sure would appreciate them. I've spent weeks on this, have burned through two HDD-200's, and am really getting pretty sick of it all. |
