Low Profile Duel Analog PCI Tuner for ITX Build?
Hi all,
I'm trying to put together a cheap SageTV client for my girl friend and I'm stuck on finding a TV tuner. I'm trying to do it on the cheap and I'm stucking trying to find a cheap TV tuner card. This build will never need to do HD so I'm trying to do an ITX Atom build with the following hardware. ITX Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811153099 Atom Board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813121359 So now I just need a tuner, I'm looking to buy used but can't find what I'm looking for. It has to be a dual tunver and only needs to do analog, also has to be PCI. HELP! |

What is your source material? You may also be able to go external (USB, or Network).

This link lists all the approved tuners for SageTV. I didn't check them but I don't think you'll find a tuner which is dual/analog/pci & low profile. The only card I know of that is both dual & low profile is the Hauppauge 2250 .. but it requires a pciEx1 slot which your MB choice will not support. The 2250 is a great internal card which would also allow HD capture in the future but your MB choice wouldn't playback HD anyway. Here's an option based on mini itx which may work with the 2250 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813500021 The above MB is $99 but it has a pciEx1 slot, better IG (will even do HD), and also has an integrated wifi-a/g. You'll need to add a single core CPU for $40 or a dual for $50. Another option is to jump up to the micro formfactor which may save you some money. Edit: a cheaper option (still mini-itx with pciEx1 but no CPU) is http://www.amazon.com/Zotac-NF630I-D...outThisProduct this guy $58 and getting an intel CPU.
