anyone have any experience with the SAPPHIRE 100167L, I was thinking of sticking this in my sage client so I could connect my tv using the HDMI.

IMO, don't limit yourself to HDMI cards, DVI cards work just fine with DVI-HDMI converters. As far as it goes today though, I would make sure to get a card that's HDCP enabled.

What do you meanby limit myself, Using the HDMI I can reduce the cables Im using to 1 from the tv to the PC.

If you wouldn't recomend this card can you recomend a good LowProfile card that I can use to do HD with to my TV?

It's still one cable for DVI to HDMI. In fact monoprice had a $1.89 special on 3 ft DVI to HDMI cables this weekend. I picked up 2.

Get a low profile DVI video card unless you absolutely need the audio routed through that cable as well. Note that even HDMI video cards have modest support for transporting audio.

Thanks,
Mike

I think he means, don't limit yourself to only looking at HDMI cards since there may not be a lot of them out there. YOu would have more options if you included DVI cards in your search.

Is reducing the number of cables down to 1 the most importatnt thing you need in a card, (need audio and video in the same cable)? If so, then go HDMI. If not, there are plenty of DVI cards that will do the job just fine.

That's exactly what I mean

The reason I say the above is because, IMO, audio support in HDMI video cards (S/PDIF passthrough at best) is not worth the trouble.

When video cards start appearing with HDMI and support for sending multichannel PCM over it, then they will be interesting.

Although it would be nice, Audio over a single cable is not the most important to me. I would really prefer a nice LP card to match with this system, Any card suggestions? there really doesn't seem to be much in the way of LP cards DVI, HDMI, or even Component wise.

There are plenty of low profile 6200s. No idea if there are any higher end models or not.

I've been looking for a low profile, AGP, dvi, hdcp compatible card and I don't think they exist and it appears wont be appearing.

They have them for pci express x16 but I can't find one for AGP.

If anyone has seen one please point it out?

thanks,

I've been looking for these low profile DVI cards and cant find anything. I seem to find alot saying they were low profile but when I viewed the components they were definitely not low profile. Do you need to order a separate bracket for these?

A quick search of newegg found 130 results for low profile video cards. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...sc=low+profile

As for the actual low profile bracket, I saw that some had them listed and showed at newegg, but most didn't. Like this one, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814145134 . I dunno, but if you found a card you liked, then I would check with newegg and/or the manufacturer to see if they had a LP bracket available.

For Anyone that wishes to know, I went ahead and purchased this card, Got it for $94 after shipping and handling by watching newegg. It works EXTREMELY well, Super smooth HD and SD playback alike, with very little cpu usage. The HDMI worked perfectly the first time, I didnt even have to modify the overscan settings. The only complaint is the ATI drivers basically suck if I ever did have to mod the overscan. I am using it with a Toshiba 62HM95.
