Recording digital tv on shaw

hi,

been doing the analog recording for awhile now. I'm on shaw in calgary. What hardware will work best for my situation so i dont have probs with channel switching etc? BAsic box i believe is the dct700 from motorola I'll be darned if gonna be forced to buy a box from Shaw. I want to be able to put programs on my BB Bold. The box just doesnt allow for portability as far as i know. Any suggestions would be appreciated since shaw is playing musical channels so cant get all fav channels anymore on classic cable (analog) have hauppage pvr usb2 so have remote & irt remote.

Are you talking unencrypted digital? Or encrypted premium channels like HBO? If it's the premium stuff, you'll have to buy a box and an HD-PVR. If not, an HDhomerun will fit the bill.

planning on getting a dct 700 box which i understand is straight digital signal as opposed to converting an analog to digital or visa versa. i would like to get a hauppage digital tuner of some sort. the new hddvr model i'd have to upgrade my computer setup to use. not enough hardware to run it now.
