Newbie Question - HD-PVR choppy on PlaceShifter
I am trying to watch HD-PVR shows on my PlaceShifter. I know my CPU client is strong enought because I had no problems at all using the the other "snappy" brand of client.
How do I change the H.264 decoder on the PlaceShifter client? The best I can get is choppy playback of anything hi-def. Any info is appreciated. It's so nice to have a server that does not crash with the HD-PVR every day. I can't break the HD-PVR on the SageTV server app, and I've tried everything I can throw at it to make it fail. But, of course, now I'm fighting it on the viewing end. My client is an older 955 chipset and 8000 series Nvidia card, but it's always been able to handle ATSC .ts files and H.264 files with about 20% CPU usage. I have Cyberlink and TME H.264 codecs on the client, but I don't know how to access them like I do with the "snappy" brand of client. Again, any help is appreciated. Thanks. |

If you want to use 3rd party codecs, you need to use SageClient, not Placeshifter, Placeshifter is targetted at WAN use, not LAN use.
