Custom channels

First, let me say that I switched from Beyond TV to sage about a year ago and havent looked back. It helped me get rid of 2 computers (replaced with an MVP and an HD100) at no extra cost. I sold the computers and it more than paid for the extenders. Bottom line, I am very happy with Sage.

Unfortunately to save money, I had to get rid of all my movie channels (I had HBO, cinemax, showtime, the works...). Now I am a movie nut, and have well over 300 DVDs and 50 blu-rays. Of those 300, I have almost 200 avi movies on my server hard drive. So whats the problem?

I like the randomness of the movies on the cable stations. Sometimes I just like to catch the last 15 minutes of Spaceballs for the ten thousandth time. So my question is does anyone know of way to add a channel based on a playlist of avi files. In my dream setup, I would have different file folders setup by genre, each genre would have its own channel and I could just drag and drop a new avi in the folder and it would integrate the new file randomly into the channel lineup.

I know this is a rather strange request, but it would help me out a lot. Thanks

Well, you can view your video library by genre.. then select one with your eyes closed??? bout the only quick solution i can think of...
