SageTV Launcher help

I recently changed to using Vista instead of XP. I have SageTV Launcher so that VMC won't be controlled by the remote, but I have to run SageTV Launcher after start-up. How can I get it to start automatically when Windows loads?

On a 2nd note, does installing SageTV "break" the functionality of Vista Media Center? After I installed Vista and Sage and tried to set up VMC, it says it cannot find any tuners. I can't even remember the wording now, but there's a pop-up box that keeps coming up saying that Media Center Receiver (maybe?) has stopped.

You cannot run both at the same time. You need to disable VMC's services. If you want to run VMC instead of Sage, you'll have to disable Sage.

By disable, do you mean uninstall? I tried changing Sage's startup setting where it doesn't load when the PC is started, thinking that maybe it "takes over" the tuners or something. But I still got error messages with VMC.

What about SageTV Launcher? I've always gotten the feeling that this was something more "automatic". People aren't just launching this program manually each time Windows starts are they?

You'll need to regsvr32 /u some of the sage filters (.ax) files to make the mc rec service run correctly. Ehome should be blacklisting those filters, but they prefer to ignore the issue.

Once you do that, the sage client and MC will coexist just fine.

put a shortcut in the startup folder (or HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run)
