Hauppauge hvr-1600 remote for placeshifter ?

Can I use the ir receiver and remote of the hvr-1600 in placeshifter ? I am trying to utilize a spare pc as an "extender".

Do you mean the Hauppauge remote or Hauppauge's MCE style remote?

Do you have the 1600 installed in the PC where you want to use Placeshifter? If not & it is a regular Hauppauge remote (not MCE), then there is nothing to connect the remote receiver to. If it is installed on that PC, note that Placeshifter won't be able to use the tuner,so it seems like a waste of a tuner to use it just for the remote.

I just tried using the Hauppauge remote with my PVR-USB2 and it works fine using the SageTV-modified irremote.ini for the regular Hauppauge IR receiver. If you have the IR software installed & configured for SageTV on another PC, you can use your own irremote.ini (found in c:\Windows) or one from the forum, such a post #3 from link 1 in my sig lines.
