Not to be an @$$ here, but did you read the announcements forum where 6.1 was announced?

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24614

The answer is that the Hauppauge HVR-1600 was not offficially supported until 6.1.

I use the HVR-1600 with v5 and it works, but you can only use one of the tuners. I opted to use the digital tuner since I already had 2 ATI 550s. v6.1 will allow both tuners on the 1600 to be used at the same time.

Exclamation Help!

HELP This Hauppauge HVR-1600 isn't working!!

I have both analog and OTA HD hooked up and it says it found 0 Analog channels and right now it's scanning for the digital channels which I highly doubt it will find anything.

My $23 Tv tuner card found all the channels and this can't find No one channel....

I know that "offical" support for the 1600 wasn't added until 6.1. I heard that some people used it on earlier builds, but were not able to use both tuners simultaniously, maybe not even 2 tuners at all.

From the V6.1 release,

New Cards on Windows: Hauppauge HVR-1600 (supports dual ATSC + NTSC)

It will work in both provided the card is not bad. I am using it in 5.4 (ATSC only) and I just scan for stations. I DO NOT load any EPG. I can pull in stations within 30 miles with indoor antenna. Those with 75%+ show great.

what do you mean? I know what the issue is now... this building has a VHF antenna and just about all the stations are using UHF to broadcast.

What he means is what are you hooking the card up to and what kind of cables are you using. If you're just splitting the coax coming out of the wall, then that's your problem. Get an indoor UHF antenna (usually around $25 at CC or RS) and connect it to the lower RF (male threaded connection) connector on the card. When you set it up in Sage, don't set up an EPG (Electronic Program Guide). Just select not to use a guide and then do a scan for channels. You should find everything within 20 miles.

For SD, you REALLY should sign up for basic cable and not try to pick them up with an antenna. The SD tuner is the top RF connection on the card.

well like I said the wire coming in from the wall is from a VHF antenna.. every signal station here at my zip code broadcasts in UHF.

I do have a splitter but I took that off since I found out the whole antenna thing I will buy a 2nd silver sensor while waiting for my other silver sensor to arrive by mail.. If it does not work then I will have to try something else.

Silver Sensor does not work.. For anyone who has a HVR-1000

what signal level do you need for the picture to show?

in the WinTV2000 program I only got 2 bars on whatever channel it was but nothing never showed on the screen.

Do you know how far you are from your TV stations you may want go here www.antennaweb.org and look it up and there are lots things that could keep you from getting a signal dose reg analog side of the tuner even work?, maybe there a problem with the card it self.
