What happens when IP connection fails and...

If I'm watching a live TV show (MVP) and the (laptop) PC loses its connection while watching, and it's not restored, does Sage's server time out and stop recording that? This happens if, say, the laptop's battery runs down, or it's moved out of WiFi coverage, etc.

Same question, but for watching a recorded program?

If a client goes offline for whatever reason, then any playback stream owned by that client will be closed. If the stream is live TV that's not otherwise scheduled for recording, then the temporary recording of that stream will be stopped when the stream is closed, just as if you hit the Stop button on your remote halfway through a program.

So the moral is, don't count on live playback over WiFi to ensure that a program gets recorded. If it's something you care about missing the end of, mark it for manual recording before your connection drops out.

thanks. I was more concerned that "watch live TV" would continue recording (forever?) if the client's IP connection is lost. Not so.
