MoCa Devices
I am considering getting Verizon's FIOS service that comes with an actiontec router. As I understand the router itself is crap, however, I want it to be able to act as a router to my other pc's using moca adapters purchased elsewhere. These adapters have a coax connector and an ethernet connector. The actiontec's specs say it can use up to 6 moca devices, but I am getting conflicting info from other sources saying you have to use the devices as a send and receive unit. I am speaking of the netgear mcab 1001 kit that provides two moca devices one for sending and one for receiving. In theory one could use both devices as receivers if the actiontec router will use them the way a traditional router uses NIC's in our pc's. Anyone have experience in this area?
