Multiple remotes/IR devices
Previously had USBUIRT for changing SA cable box and used streamzap for my control of SAGE. Buttons on Streamzap are limited (unless you go through Girder). Decided to try USBUIRT in dual purpose role: controlling cable box, and accepting whatever remote codes I want to through at Sage.
Can streamzap and USBUIRT (as user interface) coexist? It might be nice to have streamzap for browsing and other apps. Seem to be getting huge 100% CPU usage when trying to learn new USBUIRT codes when running in service mode. Will try disabling streamzap for now. I guess long term USBUIRT/Girder is the way to go. Then I'd be able to have the Amp and TV change inputs depending on my viewing mode. Girder just seems like scarry stuff. For now I just want to consolidate about 5 remotes to the learnable one that came with my Onkyo amp. It has some macros functions I might be able to use for input/source changing. Thanks

No luck...
When operating in service mode, and trying to learn USBUIRT codes to control sage through the same-machine client, I get 100% cpu lockup. As soon as i click "Use USBUIRT + any remote" it explodes. Remember the same problem programing USBUIRT for channel changes to the cablebox. Had to exit service mode and then program. That was over two years ago...can't believe this hasn't been fixed yet?

What version of SageTV are you using, and what STV? There was an issue fixed in SageTV somewhat recently whne using the USB-UIRT in service mode.
Or, check to see if the service is logging in as the same user that the UI is being used as. I don't remember the details, but someone else said they had to do that. Oh -- here is a post about it. - Andy

Thanks!
I upgraded from 6.0 to 6.1 and also changed the service logon to local user. Not sure which one fixed the problem, but now I can start learning and consolidate my endless supply of remotes.
