Sagetv hauppage remote locking when switching to external app

Hello,
I use hauppauge remote to control sage. For dvd playback I set external link to powerdvd in main menu. When I press then link sage goes to sleep mode and powerdvd starts. The problem is when I poweroff the dvd player using the remote and the power button the powerdvd closes and i see sage again but sometimes the remote does not respond. I understand that if other applications are running I need to manually change the focus by pressing "I" on the remote and up and down and enter. My problem is total lock. I found a workaround and I set blue button to reset the IR.exe application so the control can be restored. Anyone experience such a problem? Can it just work?

I have a similar issue where coming out of sleep mode behaves as you describe.

I would love to kow how you accomplished this. Can you please add the steps you did?

I used to just VNC to the machine and reset ir.exe, what a pita that is. I did a bit of research yesterday and found 2 path issues in the irremote.ini file I corrected and this morening it came out of sleep just fine with remote working. perhaps it is a null issue for me now but I would still like to know how to map buttons as you described.
