Revert to earlier firmware

I'm sorry but I really did look through the fAQ

I just updated to the latest HD200 FW (505 I think) and it causes issues with freezing on DVD title changes.

I want to go back to Beta 0429. How do I do this?

Thank

Stacy

Read through this post in the FAQ. Follow the instructions near the end of that post

Don't really remember the link and where the instructions are. But here is a copy of the text I stored for the USB manual update procedure. Also use the two links below to download the files needed for the 20090429 0 beta firmware (after download I think you need to rename them to the names in the instructions).

http://download.sage.tv/firmware/stp200-20090429-0.ver
http://download.sage.tv/firmware/stp200-20090429-0.bin

Code:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Option 1 (recommended): Recovery Procedure via USB Drive
1. Download the following files and place them in the root directory of a USB
   drive.
   http://download.sage.tv/firmware/stp200.ver
   http://download.sage.tv/firmware/stp200.bin
2. Make sure the STP-HD200 is running standalone mode, as described at the top
   of this FAQ post.
3. From the Main Menu, select Settings to go to the Settings menu.
4. On the Settings menu, choose System Update.
5. On the Update Firmware menu, enter 872 ('USB') via the remote's number pad.
After the screen title changes to "Update Firmware from USB Drive",
   choose Check for Updates.
6. If an update is found on the USB drive, you will be asked whether to update
   now.
7. After choosing to perform the update, the firmware will be copied from the
USB drive and the update will be installed. When the process is done, the
extender will restart. As mentioned above, do not turn the unit off while
   it is updating.

EDIT: Missed Brent's post above with same link.

Here's the link with recovery from SageTV server as well. (USB (voidpt's post) is easier method IMO)

By previous request on the forum, all the links for the recent firmware version downloads & links to the FAQ about how to install them are in the HD200 notification topic too.

OK..... I download the files from 0429 (both of them). I put both of them in the root directory of a freshly formattted FAT32 USB drive.

I plugged into the HD200. I rebooted Said HD200 (which currently had 0505 on it). I then went to system settings, then update. I then type 872 for USB.

When I hit enter, it said there was nothing on the USB drive. I re-inserted the USB drive. Same story. I re-booted HD200 again. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Same story. HD200 said there's nothing on the drive.

So, repeated everything with a different USB drive. Same story. Said there's nothing on the Drive.

So I downgraded to the release version (december something). Now that it's on that software, using the 872 won't even try to use USB drive any more. So the only option was to re-install 0505 again.

Now I am back in the viscious cycle again as 0505 will recognize 872 code and usb drive but will not find anything on two different USB drives.

Any more ideas?

Just double-checked myself. You will need to rename the two files you downloaded to following names on the USB stick:

Code:
stp200.ver
stp200.bin
Or else HD200 will not find them. Hopefully that is the source of your problems.
