Cox Cable and QAM?

I have Cox cable internet service only and initially was able to pick up most network channels with QAM until they somehow figured out how to "filter" the channels from my internet service. So, does anyone know if they deliver QAM channels with just the "Basic" cable service (not "Standard" service)? Also, I have a small LCD tv with a built-in QAM tuner and when I do a scan it indicates that 160 channels were found but when I go to view them there are only 3 or so?

Most cable companies filter out all the tv signals, if you only have their internet service. Not surprising their...

Charter does give the QAM channels with the basic cable package (not sure about Cox, check out DSLreports for Cox and see what they say) and is supposed to provide, according to the FCC.

That is common, those are prolly the encrypted QAM (pay channels) most QAM tuners will stop for a second on them, before realizing that the tuner cannot get anything on them. Unlike the analog/Clear QAM channels, the cable co's probably do not filter out the "premium pay" channels since they are encrypted, no one can access them anyway....

Thanks for the reply. I guess I will have to just give the basic service a try if my reception gets too poor now that the leaves are back...
