Can You Assign A Specific Tuner to a HD200?

I was wondering if there's a way that you can tell the HD200 to use a specific tuner in a multi-tuner server configuration. Since I only have one HD LCD in the house, that one will use the HD PVR tuner while the other SD TV will use the HVR-1950 tuner. Is this possible\doable without reinventing the wheel? Thanks.

No, but you can assign specific channels to specific tuners (like SciFi HD to the HD PVR, and SciFi to your SD tuner) and pick the HD one from the guide from the HD200 and the other from other clients.

I think you just disable that channel in all the EPG lineups EXCEPT the tuner you want to use it on.

Perhaps Stanger has some other idea, but this is what came to mind first.

But what if my HD200 attached to my LCD grabs the analog tuner channel lineup?

I don't understand what you mean by "grabs the analog lineup". A client isn't tied to a specific tuner or lineup; the EPG lists all channels, digital and analog, no matter which client you're sitting at. If you choose a program from one of the digital channels, it will use the digital tuner.

I see what you mean. Analog channels will be picked up by in my case the HVR-1950 and the Digital will be handled by the HD-PVR. What about the channels that are in teh lineup (Dish) that are both SD/HD? Will that be a show stopper? Thank you all for your patience and help.

What you do is you configure two lineups, one for the SD tuner, one for the HD PVR. In the SD tuner you only enable the SD channels (Sci Fi), in the HD PVR lineup you don't enable the SD copies of the HD channels, only the HD versions (Sci Fi HD).

All that is combined into the one EPG you browse. Because of how you configured the lineups, if you choose SciFi HD it will have to use the HD PVR because that channel isn't available (enabled) on the other tuner(s). Likewise if you choose Sci Fi it will have to use the SD tuner.

Only place this is a problem is some of the new channels like Spike/Comedy Central that don't have separate listings for their HD channel.

SageTV needs to have an option in the channel setup to let you manually mark which channels are HD and which are SD. So it can use that information in combination with the guide data to determine which is which.

Sounds like a time-consuming task but seems logical. I need to stretch every penny I got so for now, one HD-PVR and one HVR-1950 will do. I do agree with Mayamaniac statement above. Once again , thank you guys for your outstanding support.

Not really, what I described is just how I set up my lineups in the first place. I wanted/needed to make sure the HD PVR wasn't going to get told to record SD channels when there were HD versions available. So what I describe was really just a side effect of my "normal" setup.
