Ripped DVDs not importing

New sage user here. My ripped DVDs not showing up in the DVD tab of the videos page. I have added the directory as an import folder. My structure for one DVD looks like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Tim\My Documents\DVDs\Elf\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO

I use DVDshrink. Any clues?

Yes but no DVDs are showing up there on my system. Sage is just not seeing them.

I always need to "refresh imported media" from the setup menu after I load any music, photos, ripped dvd.

Make sure your folder locations are set up too. It looks like your folder might not be the default.

Make sure you go to the DVD view in there, they don't show up as "Videos".

The folder location is setup and I have tried refreshing many times.

Thanks for the tips guys. This is a weird one. Is there a registry setting or data file I can check?

Sorry for the delay. I was out of town awhile.

Yes. Seems like I stopped the Sage service, renamed my DVD folder, restarted service, went to Setup inside sage, removed old folder name from import list, added new one, and clicked "Refresh Imported Media".

Hope this helps.

Simiar Issues with Importing Videos

I am seeing the same thing. I moved SageTV to a Windows 7 machine. The UNC path for the videos has switched from \\window-server\movies1 to \\sagetv-server\movies1.

I have started, restarted, and performed multiple requests to rescan, and there are no changes. A given ripped DVD's "video detail" will indicate the old "windows-server", even after re-scan, but never show up in "sagetv-server" when it is there.

Of course, "sagetv-server" is the local machine. I am running as a service, and I have specified my user account, which is an administrator. I have checked and double checked the password.

What is interesting is that if I Browse Media Files and go to the "Browse Import Library Paths", I can see the files, and even play them! So, Sage can see the files, but it just won't update the video files.

One more thing, I have created an error log, and one thing I do notice is a bunch of the follow:

"Sun 7/5 11:16:01.738 [MediaServerConnection@16d7bba] Error in MediaServerConnection of :java.io.EOFException"

Could that have anything to do with it?

Is the path "\\window-server\movies1" still accessible? Is it empty? I remember at least at one point, Sage wouldn't "move"/remove files on "lost" network paths since it couldn't tell if they were deleted or if the network drive just temporarily disappeared.

No. Those paths don't exist anymore. "windows-server" does, but it just contains the normal WHS shares. (just double checked)

Try making a "movies1" share on that server with nothing in it and see what happens.

No luck. I did as you suggested, and the videos still show up. They have zero length and show the old path. I would assume that they are stored in wiz.bin, so that there is no easy way to just delete them.

I submitted a bug report.

You did a rescan after you added the path right?

Do you have the BMT automatic plugin installed? Some people have said that some/all of their dvds do not show up when the automatic plugin is installed.

Yes, I do. I have it running on all of my HD-100 and HD-200 TVs. The client on the server has just the stock STV. That is the machine that I have used to do the refreshes.

I will try going to Sage with no plugins and see what happens.

That may be the trick. I went back to the stock SageTV and I then installed SageMC with Movie Wall and the TV import with no BMT. It scanned the directories correctly. I don't think before it would scan properly, since it took much longer without BMT.

Thanks for the help.

I wonder if there will be a fix for BMT, I like what it does.

I find something confusing. When you install a STV or STVi, it is on the client. How does that affect the server? Do you actually cause the server to run the plug-in as well? Like with BMT, I didn't have that STVi installed on the client that was trying to do a rescan of the import directories.

I'm also having the same issue. The imported videos will not refresh no matter what I do. My directory structure is as follows:
media/video/dvd
media/video/movies
media/video/TV Recordings

The movies folder will not show up for anything. It was fine even after I installed BMT until I added movies now nothing shows. If I use the browse media I see everything perfectly.

I'm running Sage 6.19 / SageMC rc46 / BMT beta 6 / SJQ (latest one) / favorites guide plugin

I have went back to the stock stv and refreshed and still nothing. I have tried the stock SageMC without imports and nothing. The only thing I have not done it uninstall BMT because I have not found out how yet.

I had this issue, with about 30% of my DVDs showing up. running latests beta of BMT (3) as well.

I changed the property bmt enabled = false, and started up sage again.
It imported all the DVD's.
The I switched it back to true again and restarted.
Now all the DVd's are showing up with cover art
